We are seeking a skilled cold storage sit-down Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our produce distribution center. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse supervisors and team members.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including cherry pickers and pallet jacks, to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate order picking and inventory management.
- Build and assemble pallets for shipping according to company standards.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks while adhering to OSHA safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the warehouse supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Forklift Operator in a distribution center or warehouse setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is a plus.
- Certification in operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
