TOOL & DIE MAKER
Job Description
The Tool & Die Maker position is responsible for building and repair of gauges, fixtures,
tooling and dies; assembly and testing of complex tooling and dies in production
departments.
Essential Functions
- Use blueprints, sketches, models, or provided specifications to plan sequences of
operations for fabricating tools, dies and assemblies. - Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to
specifications, by utilizing measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks,
micrometers and dial indicators. - Utilize machining equipment and hand tools to file, grind, adjust, fit and assemble
parts to make, repair or modify dies, gauges, and tooling. - Conduct testing of completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications;
make adjustments as necessary. - Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Contribute and adhere to safety and quality policies and requirements.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Work Environment
The environment will have moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and
or loud noises. It may also include operating equipment and being aware of those around
you who may be operating equipment.
Physical Demands
This position will require moderate physical activity with handling of average-weight
objects of 100 pounds (push or pull).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Completion of formal apprenticeship program or completion of on-the-job training to meet
company expectations.
