Are you a strategic and hands-on procurement professional with a passion for aviation? We’re looking for a Purchasing Lead to oversee purchasing operations in a dynamic, fast-paced MRO environment. This is your chance to lead a dedicated team, drive supplier performance, and directly support aircraft maintenance operations that keep fleets in the air.
What You’ll Do
As the Purchasing Lead, you’ll balance both leadership and hands-on procurement duties. You’ll coordinate daily purchasing workflows, optimize vendor relationships, ensure regulatory compliance (FAA, EASA), and support timely procurement to minimize aircraft downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Assign and prioritize daily tasks for purchasing agents
- Source aircraft parts, tools, and consumables
- Lead vendor negotiations to ensure quality, performance, and cost savings
- Maintain compliance with FAA, EASA, and internal vendor requirements
Inventory & Materials Management
- Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock
- Oversee logistics coordination to ensure timely part availability
- Expedite AOG (Aircraft on Ground) orders
- Conduct inventory audits and resolve discrepancies
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate procurement records and certifications (8130-3, traceability, etc.)
- Ensure team adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Identify cost reduction opportunities
- Support budget planning and forecast material costs
- Approve POs aligned with operational needs and budget goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, quality, and finance teams
- Recommend sourcing alternatives and vendor solutions
Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of purchasing/supply chain experience in aviation or MRO
- 2+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of aviation parts and compliance regulations
- Strong ERP and procurement software experience
- Negotiation, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Aviation, or related field preferred
- Industry certifications (CPP, CSCP) are a plus
