Job Description
The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures, and assist in maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. Must maintain good relationships with the company's vendors. Duties include the need to understand company needs based on stock, inventory, projects and plans as well as the understanding of general sales and market trends according to the industry. The successful candidate must be forward thinking, problem solver, organized, efficient and self-motivated to complete responsibilities in a timely manner without direct supervision.
Will work with the Purchasing Manager to run the purchasing department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
> Maintaining good relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities.
> Reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts.
> Using quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management.
> Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records.
> Enter orders in company system.
> Create S.O.P's to comply with I.S.O 9001
> Review and reconcile invoices; resolution on discrepancies.
> Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies.

Job Requirements
>Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
>3+ years of experience in purchasing.
>Knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and supply management systems.
>Must have a positive work attitude, good communication/bilingual a+, and the ability to work in a team environment.
