Senior Commercial Estimator Specialist
Job Description
The Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring all elements are accounted for, from labor and materials to equipment and timeframes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to develop reliable, cost-effective estimates that support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare Detailed Estimates: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to develop detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates reflect the project’s needs.
• Source Pricing Information: Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Review and Analyze Bids: Evaluate bids and pricing proposals from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals and budget.
• Risk Analysis: Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project costs and timelines, providing recommendations for mitigation.
• Monitor and Update Costs: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing changes, and materials costs that may affect project estimates.
• Prepare Reports: Generate detailed estimate reports and present them to clients and project teams for approval and feedback.
• Adjust Estimates: Revise estimates as project specifications or scope changes to ensure accuracy and accountability.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in commercial estimating or a related role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, etc.).
• Knowledge of industry-specific costing databases and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
