Job Title: Manager of Warehouse Management System Development

Position Summary:

As a Manager of WMS Development, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate reporting, efficient data access, and informed decision-making. This position encompasses multiple application development, maintenance, and enhancement projects. The role involves managing a development and support team comprising both local and outsourced resources. Daily engagement on the warehouse floor is essential to assess processes and identify operational and system synergies. Additionally, WMS configuration modifications must be maintained based on evolving company needs.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate directly with operational resources in the warehouse.

• Attend meetings for new customer rollouts or process needs with strict attention to detail.

• Provide technical leadership and application design for management applications.

• Manage development, QA, and Help Desk operations.

• Provide overall direction to technical and functional designs.

• Work directly with business analysts and project teams to elicit and document business requirements for enhancements and new features.

• Oversee performance management responsibilities within the IT group.

• Coordinate the entire development process from design to implementation with project teams, developers, service and support groups, and third-party vendors as applicable.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation processes.

• Research and evaluate technology solutions.

• Function as an experienced technical resource for development staff.

• Create system specifications.

• Establish, document, and communicate technology standards.

• Present findings, recommendations, and insights to diverse audiences.

• Evaluate applications architecture, identify risks, and implement best practices.

• Mentor junior team members.

• Prioritize multiple project assignments.

• Set up and configure software applications and solutions to meet business requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years' experience with systems management, analysis, and reporting.

• Proven experience in software implementation, preferably with WMS/OMS.

• Knowledge of Manhattan Software’s SCALE (Windows-based) WMS software is a plus.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience.

• Strong time management skills.

• Ability to train employees and assist with problem-solving and decision-making.

• Sound computer literacy skills to aid in writing protocols.
